I’ve been waiting to blog about the new version from wordpress now for about 3 or 4 days. I wanted to give it a good run until I gave my 2 cents on it. At first I didn’t like the whole new Admin look and seem to be lost back there, But its really grown on me. The new features are really great and refreshing. I’m glad all of my plug ins work right after the upgrade and i don’t have to start troubleshooting anything ( what a pain that would of been).

When you first go to upgrade its really quite easy. I thought it would of been a lot harder than it was. I have to say they did a great job in upgrading and making it easy for users. There are several plug ins that have to be ported over but I’m sure that will happen soon.

I know a few bloggers have been waiting for this update for sometime now so im eager to hear what you guys think of Wordpress 2.5 .

how to deal with negativity

Do you get the occasional negative comment on your blog? Or just people talking smack about you because of what you do or blog about? I know i do and it really doesn’t bother me much. If these types of people can only bad mouth you and put you down cause you’re trying to accomplish something they’re scared to do then just let it be. I wouldn’t waste any time on these negative jerks cause it really has no point in giving in to em.

They want you to quit and be miserable just like they are. Don’t give in! Keep your course and you’ll be fine. People always try to tear down something they envy. It pisses em off that your doing something productive and want better for yourself.

I get these comments on the blog sometimes that just have no point or are just talking sh*t. I read it , Laugh and click delete. It makes me laugh that silly people can actually try to bring me down with what they say. So don’t let em get to you and do what you feel is the best thing for your company or sites. Just delete it and move on. Don’t dwell on the nonsense they post cause it will start to make you think your not good at what your doing. And we both know thats not the best way to deal with things.

for those who haven’t heard gasmoney Media is on the auction block over at sitepoint. I have several personal reasons to sell, but the biggest one is i need to concentrate on other things.

I would love to hold on to it and keep it for a lot more time but i really need the influx of cash. If your interested in a company like gasmoney to be the main umbrella for all of your other real estate properties then this is the time to jump on it.

This is going to be the second time i blog about Value Click ( first Value Click post here ) and I just wanted to give you guys a little proof on what a great referral program they have. Since I sold my Myspace resource sites 2 months ago i haven’t really had much time to get back into the swing of things with resource sites. But that hasn’t stopped me from making money with Value Click.

This past month in March i made $224.35 in Referral fees alone. Now i know some of you are probably saying ” thats nothing” and your probably right but lets analyze the work I’ve done to make that $224. I blogged about it , I posted my link on my blog , and i have a banner rotating at the top with my referral link. Was that hard ? nope. Was it a pain in the butt to set that up? not at all. And now its bringing me an average of $200 a month just from a few referrals to a great company that gives good payouts for myspace or social network traffic.

So the next question is why aren’t you promoting them? why dont you sign up and do the same? Its not hard at all when the company your referring is one of the highest paying companies for traffic out on the web.

Value Click media is one of the better companies out there and not a lot of people even know about them. So if I were you i would definitely apply to become a publisher and join the referral team. Its not hard and you’ll just be leaving money on the table if you don’t.

Well today i logged into digitalpoint forums after a much needed mini vacation and noticed a lot of pointless content. Now ive been noticing the big drop in quality information from DP but not with in a week. I guess this type of thing was expected as you cant always be on top.

As for sitepoint.com , They have just revamped their marketplace to better fit the sellers as well as the buyers. I think it will be a good thing for everyone in the long run since so many rules have changed.

Wickedfire.com seems to be the steady of all of them as you will always find good quality content with detailed information on anything your looking for. I’ve seen affiliates just give out details on marketing strategies in a thread to get good help from others to better it.

well thats enough for the ranting on my part for today. more blogging will come for sure. Its just been a long month for me and things are jsut starting to die down.

Sorry for the inactivity on the blog. I have been trying to share my time with all the sites in my network as well as new projects. Seems the blog is the last one to get my attention. Since i don’t have the time necessary for all the sites in my network i have decided to sell some of my sites. One of the sites to go is seomodz.com. I received an email yesterday from Kris Jones letting me know about the whole issue regarding the CJ.com ultimatum give to PepperJam Clients , And quite frankly i just don’t like it. I think Kris and his team have the right to exist and practice what they do with out interference of another competing company.

On Tuesday 2/26/08 some of the Pepperjams team was in Vegas for the affiliate summit 2008. Suddenly the team started to receive calls, one after another, from different clients. Here’s a direct quote from Kris’s Blog on what happened next.

Our clients told us that they were being aggressively contacted by Commission Junction employees and delivered an ultimatum - either stay with Commission Junction or terminate all agency business with Pepperjam.

Now! That to me sounds like a shady tactic and possibly illegal. To deliberately go after PepperJam when there are so many other longer established networks they can try and bully? Maybe they just feel that Pepperjam has the best potential to reach them at the number one spot? Who knows.

Not only does this affect the client base but it directly affects the pepperjam team as well. Here’s another quote from Kris.

Pepperjam has roughly 20 dedicated full-time employees that do nothing but manage affiliate programs on Commission Junction. What are we to do with all these incredibly talented, hard working employees if our clients decide to submit to Commission Junctions demands?

When Kris Jones and COO, Michael C. Jones talked to Kerri Pollard (General Manager) and David Osmond (Senior VP) of Commission Junction in person, They got a response they really didn’t expect. (1) Sorry guys, it’s just business, and (2) Commission Junction wants “that” business. By “that” business I imagine Kerri was presumptively referring to Pepperjam’s business in the form of affiliate marketing technology (Pepperjam Network) and affiliate program management.

Today i found a pretty cool email from the people at payperpost.com . I’m sure everyone who signed up as an Advertiser and just hasn’t been active got one.
